2019 – Silverdale & Arnside Art & Craft Trail – June 28th to 30th at the Arnside Educational Institute. Throughout the whole of the trail a wide range of art forms, styles and techniques are available for the public to enjoy: – furniture, paper, textiles and upholstery, ceramics, jewellery, wood, metal and glass work, photography in addition to painting and sculpture. The idea was proposed in 2004 by three Silverdale artist friends – Annette Kane, Kate Bentley, and Penny McLeod, who were later joined by others for the inaugural exhibition. They opened their studios, used local venues, made banners from sheets and encouraged villagers and visitors to wander across muddy fields in search of local art.

2015 – Transformations – Space2Create, The Factory, Kendal. Transformations is a collaborative Project between the Space2Create Creative Writing Group which meets weekly under the guidance of Maggie How and local Artists. In the Spring of 2015 the Writing Group completed a collection of writing on the theme of change. This included poems, short texts and even a script. It was decided that this should be turned into a book and thoughts turned to illustration. It was decided to invite artists from The Factory and local artists to take a poem and then create an artwork from it. Many local artists came forward to be part of the project (and some from further afield) very kindly offering up their time and resources for the project.
