Inspiration Comes From Many Sources – My little tribute to inventor Izhar Gafni.

Every now and then along comes a video, a review, a book, a blog post, a twitter link, a piece of music, a conversation etc that in varying degrees influences and sometimes inspires us. All of which is dependent on what we are currently living through and what are current values and ambitions are. For anyone out there thinking of embarking on, or is involved in a project, an idea or an ambition that at the outset seems ‘impossible’, the following video by Giora Kariv may serve as inspiration. The video is a mini re-enactment of the processes that the inventor Izhar Gafni went through while he was developing his bicycle made out of cardboard. Gafni explains the origin of his idea through to the completed bicycle, which illustrates how determination and single-minded effort can achieve great things. He is currently finalising a deal to mass produce the bicycle, his aim is to help traffic congested cities and remote areas in 3rd world countries where transport and funds are limited. He also thinks that retailers should only need to charge $20 (NPR’s News Blog).
